Hoglets craft: Pop-up Tiger in a Teacup

We're making an amazing Popup Tiger In A Teacup in celebration of our story of the week A Tiger Came To Tea. You will need:

  • A paper cup
  • A piece of cardboard
  • 3 straws
  • A pair of Scissors
  • A hole punch
  • Felt-tip pens
  • Sellotape.

How to make your Pop-up Tiger in a Teacup

1. Firstly using your felt pens, colour in your entire paper cup, any colours you want. The brighter the better. Then either using a hole punch or getting your big person to do it with scissors punch 3 holes in your paper cup. Two at opposite sides just under the rim of the cup and one in the centre of the bottom of the cup.

2. On the cardboard draw a large tigers head and two large paws. Colour them in and then cut them out.  3. Now Take your three straws, cut 1/4 of the length from two of the straws. Put all three straws together and secure the tops with lots of sellotape. Your straws should now look like a headless stickman. 4. Push the longest straw through the hole in the bottom of the cup and the two shorter lengths through the two holes at the top of the cup. Then secure the two paws you've drawn on the end of each of the two shorter straws and stick the Tiger head onto the joint where all straws are stuck together. 5. Now pull down on the straw coming out of the bottom of the cup and let go. Pop! Out jumps your Tiger from its Teacup, make sure you hide all your biscuits and cakes! Mama Hoglet. X
